Following on from what can only be described as a fantastic season at U13s, with one loss in 12 games, the U14s found the start of this season challenging with a step up in opposition and entry in to a competitive cup for the first time.
With a number of key injuries and players missing due to other commitments the team had struggled to gain any sort of momentum despite a hard fought win away to Reading Abbey on the opening day of the season.
The team are facing new opponents on a regular basis and the step up in quality is there for all to see, as players return and the team settles back into a regular pattern of games and training the results and more importantly performances have improved dramatically capped off with a dominant away win vs Witney in the county cup just before the Christmas break.
The success of this team is also feeding the King Alfred's academy team and a number of players have also been selected for the Gloucester DPP programme.
2024 promises to be a challenging but no doubt successful year for this team.
