After a busy start to 2026, there’s another full weekend of rugby and social action at Grove RFC, with senior fixtures, junior rugby across multiple age groups, and the return of one of the club’s most popular social nights.

Senior Men’s Rugby – Saturday

1st XV – Home Fixture
Grove welcome Faringdon RFC to Recreation Lane, looking to bounce back after last weekend’s defeat away at Didcot.
A strong local rivalry always brings an intense and competitive match, and the boys will be keen to start building momentum again on home soil.

2nd XV – Away Fixture
The 2nds travel to face Littlemore RFC as they look to properly get their 2026 playing schedule underway.
After being awarded a walkover win last week, the squad will be eager to get back into competitive action and put in a strong performance.

Ladies Rugby
The Grove Ladies are in training this week as preparations continue for their next run of fixtures following a strong start to the year.

Mini & Junior Rugby – Sunday 18th January

U6s – Training at Grove.

U7s – U10s – Away joint training session at Swindon Supermarine RFC. A great opportunity for shared coaching, skills development, and match play.

U11s – Training at Grove.

U12s – Training on Friday evening at Grove.

U14s – Fixture TBC.

U15s – Training at Grove.

U16s – Away fixture vs Bracknell, as the squad continue their competitive season on the road.

Friday Night – Cash Bingo Returns!

Cash Bingo returns to Grove RFC on Friday 16th January, marking the first bingo night of the year and continuing one of the club’s most popular social events.
These nights have become a key part of the Grove RFC social calendar, regularly attracting a huge crowd from Grove, Wantage, and the surrounding villages.

Event details:
• Bar open from 6:30pm
• Eyes down at 8:00pm
• £10 per book
• 18+ only
• Open to members and non-members

The clubhouse bar is open as usual throughout the weekend, showing live sport on Sky Sports and TNT Sports. Whether you’re supporting the teams or looking for a friendly local sports bar in Grove or Wantage, Recreation Lane is the place to be.
