Wantage & Grove Extravaganza 2026 — Your Complete Guide

Saturday 13 June 2026 | Grove RFC, Recreation Lane, Grove, OX12 0FL | Gates open 11am – 11pm | Free entry | Free parking

Looking for a great family day out in Oxfordshire this summer? The Wantage & Grove Extravaganza 2026 is one of the biggest free community events in South Oxfordshire — a full day and evening of live entertainment, activities, food and fun at Grove RFC's Recreation Ground in Grove, near Wantage.

Whether you're a family with young children, a dog owner, a live music fan or just looking for something great to do near Wantage, Abingdon or Didcot this June — this is the event for you.

What's On

Live Music — Midday to 11pm
Live bands, soloists and choirs perform throughout the afternoon, with a full evening session running from 5pm to 11pm. One of the best free outdoor live music events in Oxfordshire this summer.

Dog Show
Bring your dog along — the Extravaganza dog show is a firm favourite, hosted by the National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire. Enter your dog or just come and watch. Great fun for dog lovers and families alike. Sponsored by Larkmead Vets.

Giant Funfair
A massive funfair with rides, inflatables, bungee trampolines, games stalls, hook-a-duck, candy floss and more. Brilliant for children, teenagers and adults — easily one of the best fairgrounds at a community event in Oxfordshire this year.

Falconry Displays
Watch stunning birds of prey in action with live falconry displays from Hawkwalk — up close and completely free to watch.

Live Rugby Demonstrations — Grove RFC
Grove Rugby Football Club showcase rugby for all ages, from Under-6s tag rugby through to Colts full contact. Three live segments with commentary, plus information tents for anyone interested in joining the club or getting children into rugby in Wantage or Grove.

Dance Performances
Live performances including line dancing and showcases from the American Dance School — a great free spectator event for all ages.

Martial Arts Displays
Free live demonstrations from local martial artists — a great introduction to martial arts for children and teenagers.

Free Circus Skills Workshop
Try it yourself — juggling, plate spinning and more in a free circus skills workshop open to all ages. No experience needed. Assisted by Grove Scouts on the day.

Slackline and Cycling Skills Display
Watch professional slackliners and a cycling skills and tricks display — free to watch throughout the day.

Free Children's Picnic
A free packed lunch for children on the day — one of the many reasons this is an outstanding free family day out in Oxfordshire.

BBQ and Food
Hot BBQ food from Grove Scouts, plus crepes, ice cream, coffee stalls and more. When you buy from the Scouts, you're supporting local scouting in Grove and Wantage.

40+ Stalls
More than 40 stalls across the site — local businesses, charities, gift stalls, craft sellers and community information stands. Great for a browse throughout the day.

Prize Raffle
Tickets on sale on the day. Draw takes place at 5pm. All proceeds to local charitable causes.
