Grove RFC is proud to host the Wantage & Grove Extravaganza this summer, welcoming families from across Grove, Wantage and South Oxfordshire.

The Wantage & Grove Extravaganza is back — and bigger than ever. One of the biggest free family events in Oxfordshire this summer, hosted at Grove RFC on the Recreation Ground in Grove, near Wantage. A full day and evening of live entertainment, free activities, food and fun for all ages.

What's on — all day, all free

  • Live music — bands, soloists and choirs performing from midday, with a full evening session from 5pm to 11pm
  • Dog show — enter your dog or just come and watch, hosted by National Animal Welfare Trust Berkshire, sponsored by Larkmead Vets
  • Giant funfair — rides, massive inflatables, bungee trampolines, hook-a-duck, games stalls and more for all ages
  • Falconry displays — stunning birds of prey up close with Hawkwalk
  • Live rugby demonstrations — Grove RFC junior and youth teams from Under-6s tag rugby to Colts full contact, with live commentary
  • Dance performances — line dancing and showcases from the American Dance School
  • Martial arts displays — live demonstrations for all ages
  • Circus skills workshop (free) — juggling, plate spinning and more — all ages welcome, no experience needed
  • Slackline and cycling skills display — free to watch
  • Free children's picnic — free packed lunch for children on the day
  • BBQ and food stalls — hot food from Grove Scouts, plus crepes, ice cream and coffee
  • 40+ stalls — local traders, charities, gifts, crafts and information stands
  • Prize raffle — draw at 5pm on the day

  • Gates open 11am, entertainment all day, live music until 11pm
