Training start time is generally 10:00am on Sunday mornings - unless we are playing an Away Game. Please see Fixtures List elsewhere on this web site for more information on Away Games.

At Grove Juniors, the emphasis is on every child enjoying themselves and developing their skills at the game of rugby – as an individual and as part of a team.
We meet at Cane Lane Playing Fields at 10.00 each Sunday morning from the start of September to the end of April, except when we have away matches.
New players are very welcome. Girls and boys don't be shy - come up and give it a try, you get a free taster sessions before you have to join the club. Rain does not stop play!
Age groups are based on the child's age on the 1st of September of each season.
From the Under 13 age group the team becomes part of the junior section of the club and all aspects of the full game of contact rugby are further developed at a competitive level.
This form of rugby teaches how to play strong, fair rugby, how to protect the ball in a tackle, and how to win by working as a team.
We have a well-run clubhouse selling bacon rolls and hot and cold drinks during training and home matches.
During matches ALL children are given the same opportunity to play, not just the strongest.
If the match is an away fixture the children are taken to the venue by parents, so this can mean an earlier start. Sharing lifts is often a good idea. Food is provided to the players on match days.
NEW PLAYERS ALWAYS WELCOME AT GROVE RUGBY -- Go on: Give it a Try for 2015/16!
For youth teams, the 2015/16 season starts on Sunday 6th September at 10am. New players are always welcome, and there is no rush to commit or pay anything. September (and training sessions, generally) are particularly good, because you can simply drop by the club at around 10am on a Sunday. This applies to Mini squads (U5-U12) all month and Juniors (U13-U17 boys and U13-U18 girls) most Sundays (check individual Junior team fixtures, in case playing an away match in the second half of the month).
If you have questions or want more information, you can contact the coaches directly (go to the team pages on the website), or use the club's online contact form. The Club's four Senior squads are also always welcoming of new players -- of all ages and abilities. Grove is a very friendly and competitive community club, i.e. everything that is good about grassroots sport.
Some teams start pre-season fitness and skills training in July and August, so you might be able to start sooner!
