The first half belonged to Reading who with the sun and the wind at their backs and a very strong forwards display, dominated the match.
Reading built up a substantial lead, going ahead 19-5 and 31-17, with their tries coming from Paul Chapman's son Ashley Chapman(2), Jordan Gomez, Tim Macnaughton and Peter Czernuszka. In addition Andrew Tweedie kicked four conversions and a penalty.
Grove came back strongly in the second half though to finally edge the thriller with just minutes to go.
