A wet and windy Sunday afternoon saw our up and coming ladies team visit Abingdon for their first Allianz Inner Warrior full contact match.

The 10 a side contest kicked off at 2pm with both sides looking to get a victory over local rivals.

Grove Ladies started strong and experienced scrummaging and line outs for the first time.

With the return of Laura and Suzi there was a good balance in the team, with Laura scoring the first try of the game, converted by full back and captain Nez.

A flurry of tries from both teams followed in what was a close and competitive game.

Abingdon found the winning try close to the end in a result which could have gone either way.

Despite not coming away with the win this game represented a huge step forward for the team and leaves them excited for upcoming fixtures.
