If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron. Lee Trevino

Grove Rugby Club will once again be holding it's Annual Golf Day at Carswell Golf Club, on Friday 28th August 2015.

1st tee off will be at 11:00am but this will be preceded by Bacon rolls and Coffee on arrival so please get there early, especially if you want to practise on the driving range beforehand.

Once again this year the main competition will be over 18 holes, played to Stableford rules with handicaps applying.

Additionally there will be 'longest drive' and 'nearest the pin' competitions for which trophies will be presented at the end of the day.

Prior to the trophy presentations and after the golf has completed there will be a sit down meal of either Ham, Egg and Chips or Curry and Rice.

To take part in this great event you do not have to be a spectacular golfer because its all about having a bit of fun. Anyone can apply but you either need to complete the entry form which is on the Clubhouse noticeboard in the bar area or contact Colin Rivers on 07809126808.

Cost of entry, covering the golf and the food etc., has been reduced this year to just £31.00 for non Carswell GC members and £15.00 for Carswell GC members. This is a fantastic bargain for what is a great day's entertainment.

It is vital that applications, with suggested handicaps, are received as soon as possible, particularly specifying which of the two meals you would like as these need to be ordered well in advance with the golf club.

This is always a very well attended event so please come along and join in the fun. The more the merrier.
