Grove Rugby Football Club is proud to grow the game for girls across Oxfordshire. Following the success of our Ladies team, we’re building a clear, supported pathway for girls aged 11–16 to learn, play and love rugby — whether completely new to the sport or ready to develop their skills.
We welcome players from
Grove, Wantage, Abingdon, Didcot, Harwell, Faringdon and nearby villages, offering a fun and family-friendly environment focused on confidence, friendship and teamwork.
Our MissionTo create a positive space for girls to discover rugby, have fun, make friends, and feel part of something special. Grove RFC is
partnering with local clubs to ensure all girls have access to
friendly and competitive rugby as we prepare for full team launches in the
2026/27 season.
What to ExpectTraining for our girls’ programme follows the
RFU Age Grade Rugby framework, focusing on:
- Safe, supported tackling and team play
- Game awareness and pathway preparation for senior Rugby
- DBS and RFU Qualified coaching, managing beginners and experienced players
All sessions are designed to build
confidence, fitness, respect and teamwork, supported by qualified coaches who are passionate about helping girls enjoy sport at every level.
Our Pathway- U12 Girls (Ages 11–12): Fun, inclusive sessions introducing rugby or expanding on previous skills in a Girls-only setting..
- U14 Girls (Ages 12–14): Developing skills, teamwork and safe contact in a supportive environment.
- U16 Girls (Ages 14–16): Preparing for senior rugby, working alongside our Ladies team.
