With the touch line looking like a John Radcliffe A&E queue of unvailable players, a much-changed Grove team took on Quins in the autumn sunshine at Cane Lane.
Grove started the brighter, using their forwards to penetrate the Quins defence, and it wasn't long before they scored twice to lead 10-0 through Johann and Ed. The rest of the half was dominated by Grove, but some gritty defence from Quins, and a few handling errors from Grove, led to the score remaining at 10-0.
In the 2nd half, and following some re-focusing words from the coaches, Grove continued to peg Quins back in their own half, and this pressure led to further 3 tries (Ali, Jake and Ed), of which two were converted, leading to a final score of 29-0.
Quins played their part in an entertaining game, and, credit to them, they never gave up.
With players missing, and players being asked to play out of position, it was particularly pleasing to see yet another great squad performance; yes, we left some points on the pitch, but, overall, a good solid performance.
