
After last weekend’s ice brought play to a halt, rugby is back for 2026 with a full calendar of action on the pitch and plenty happening off it at Grove RFC.
Senior Men – Derby Day Returns
Rugby is back and it’s derby day this Saturday, with both senior sides in action and 14:00 kick-offs.
1st XV travel away to Didcot RFC, who currently sit second in the league. A tough test against local rivals as Grove look to start 2026 strongly.
2nd XV are at home against Abingdon II, aiming to complete the double over their neighbours and begin the new year with a statement performance.
Get down to Recreation Lane, show your support, and help both sides kick off 2026 the right way.
Ladies Rugby
The Ladies return to action Sunday 11th away to Wotton Bassett, following it the postponement last year the ladies can’t wait to kick off their 2026 campaign.
Junior Rugby
U12 – Training Friday night.
U14 – Training at Didcot RFC.
U15 – Home cup fixture vs Wallingford RFC, 11:00 KO.
U16 – Home fixture vs Newbury RFC.
Mini Rugby
U6–U11 – Home training session with Newbury RFC.
With a full home schedule all visitors are asked to park at Mabley Way Heath Center.
U10 Girls – Heading to Oxford Harlequins for the Bucks Invitational. A fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing girls’ rugby showcase.
Clubhouse & Live Sport
The bar is open as usual throughout the weekend, with live sport shown on the big screen via Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
This weekend we’ll be showing:
European rugby from the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup
]Football action including the Women’s Super League and Men’s FA Cup
On Saturday, the clubhouse will be open before and after the 2nd XV fixture, making it the perfect place to watch live sport and enjoy the matchday atmosphere.
