First Loss of the Season
By Simon WysockiJones
This was a tough game that taught us plenty of lessons.
The biggest lesson was that we do not give away needless ball to a talented opposition backline!
The boys started well with an early try but handling mistakes constantly allowed Banbury back in the game. Rauf hooked like a demon and the scrum was dominant through most of the game but it was a day of wasted possession and wrong choices. It was the first time the backs have had a pressured defence and it is all about learning to play what is in front of you.
It was good to see a new face on the scoresheet so well done Ben and it was good to have Max make his proper debut, we are looking forward to seeing more tries and appearance from both of you.
The next few matches will tell if we have learnt anything and it will be good to host Banbury in the cup next year because it will be another fierce encounter.
