The first win was at home in the most atrocious weather when not even the flags would stay up. Visitors Hitchin put up a brave fight in a sometimes bad-tempered game but ref Andy Rimmer kept control and the forwards won the game as it was impossible for the backs to do much in the gale force wind! Final score Grove 22 Hitchin 10.
The next game was postponed twice but eventually took place at Welwyn with low numbers available. Welwyn, in their first season had no answer to the Grove Ladies, final score Welwyn 7 Grove 33.
The third win took place at a foggy Marlow RFC. Marlow have been around longer than Grove so had some seasoned players but once again the teamwork of the Grove players won through and they ran in 5 tries by the backs in a game where the scrums were uncontested. Final score Marlow 10 Grove 27, The new coaching team of Tom McCarthy, Phil Connolly and Huw Lewis have much to be proud of!
