Oxfordshire girls' rugby is now on Facebook! If you have a facebook account, just search "oxfordshire girls rugby" and become a fan! Check the page reguarly for fixtures and match info and links to other sites.
Girls' rugby is alive and kicking at Grove RFC with Under 15s (ages 12-15) and U18s (15-17) looked after by CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked, Level 1 trained coaches.  The girls play in the Thames Valley Cluster League which covers Berks, Bucks, Oxon and Middlesex. Both age groups play home and away fixtures in matches which are designed to give girls a critical mass of players so that they get experience of the full game.
Oxfordshire has a girls County team with a Level 2 coach. Trials and training take place in late September for a programme of matches in October and November. We travelled to Northants, Sussex and Gloucester last season, as well as playing our local counties too.
 Girls who prove good enough may be selected for the Thames Valley Regional trials which take place in early January. This brings together the best players from the region in a programme of training, matches and a national festival which is designed to fully develop their individual skills and lead to player identification for the Schools of Rugby and High Performance Academies. Midweek training continues throughout the year from 7-8pm every Thursday at the club, with the emphasis on fitness and fun in the summer months. During the season, we train and play matches on Sunday afternoons but please see our fixture list as we are often away.

The Regional Girls - Thames Valley U15s
They won their match against Cambridgeshire,Essex, Hertfordshire, and Norfolk 33-20.

And after their win at Andover against South-West (North) 17-14. Helen managed to sneak in this one!
