Details relating to Grove Mini Festival 2016-17 to be held at:
Grove Recreation Ground, Recreation Lane, Grove, Wantage, Oxon OX12 0FL Telephone 01235 762750 (Clubhouse).
We look forward to welcoming you all to Grove for this year’s Mini Festival.
8.30am -- Car parks open (do not arrive earlier, as car parks will not be available).
9.30am -- Team registration at Age Control Tents.
9:45am -- Referees and Coaches briefing at Age Control Tents.
10:00am prompt -- First games for all age groups.
2.00-2.30pm -- Final Matches -- All Age Groups
3.00pm -- Festival expected to finish.
ENTRANCE / PROGRAMME
1.1) Entrance fee per adult is £5 (or £10 car), including Coaches (this includes parking and the full Programme of events featuring pitch layout).
1.2) No charge for children or players, neither is there a car parking fee.
2.1) Refreshments – From Clubhouse Bar, Clubhouse Kitchen, Ice Cream Van and cake stall.
2.2) First Aid will be provided by Direct First Aid.
2.3) Toilets are located in the Clubhouse, supplemented by portable facilities.
MATCH / TEAM INFORMATION
Team Registration forms should be filled out and brought with you to the festival
3.1) 11 Oxfordshire clubs taking part, across 6 age groups, with over 70 teams, 1,000 players, around 300 matches, and 1,000 supporters.
3.2) Squads/Matches (Registration forms have been emailed to Club contacts. Players must play within their correct age group as of 31st August 2016, unless you can prove that the RFU has provided special dispensation for playing outside normal age group. Minimum age is 6 years' old for U7. Rolling substitutes are allowed but coaches must seek the go ahead from the match referee before making substitutions.):
3.3) All teams/Clubs are asked to provide Referees to support the event -- please give your Referees’ names at Control Tent.
3.4) Medals will be awarded to all participants.
3.5) Clubs are welcome to bring their own tents/gazebos and these should be erected in the areas indicated by the Grove Pitch Marshalls.
3.6) It is highly unlikely that the event will be cancelled due to weather conditions –- we have proved on a number of occasions that we can still put on a very good event under rainy/blustery conditions.
DIRECTIONS / PARKING
4.1) Please also do not arrive before 8.30am, as our car parks will not be open until that time.
4.4) There will be volunteers on the morning, to direct visitors to the parking area. All parking will be on the Mably Way pitches,, which are accessed off Mably Way.
4.5) Authorised parking at the Clubhouse -- one space per team for coaches carrying kit will be reserved in the Clubhouse car park. Parking permits will be emailed to the Clubs for these spaces.
4.6) No parking on sides of roads, particularly on bends and narrow sections of road. Police (and residents)patrols and enforcement will be in operation.
